INTERIOR:
The interior of the new A8 is mesmerizing in every sense. Making the car more technologically advanced, Audi has managed to make the cabin look more airy,clean and less clustered. Full points to Audi for the Two large touch screens from where nearly the whole car dynamics can be controlled. Bonus points to the A8 for hiding the AC vents which appear when activated. This not only gives the cabin a fresh look, it also prevents the AC vents from the dust.Clever thinking Audi. The Car gets a refurbished cabin, steering, dashboard, speedometer and a galaxy full of technology stuff. Artificial intelligence is integrated in the speedometer and also comes as a driving mode, in which the car is in auto pilot mode. Massaging of the body is a thing of past, there is foot massage available in the A8. Reclining seats, Aromated cabin(Summer and Winter modes), seven different reading light adjustments and the luxury of a private jet are standard on the new Audi A8.
EXTERIOR:
The new A8 sports a new exterior look which includes style, elegance and sharpness. The main front grill gets pointed ends which adds a sportier look to the car encompassed with the new LED lamps, the matrix and straight flowing LED’s ending with Three smaller LED’s, making the car look all the more sharp and agile. The Tail lamps are the ones which catches the eye of everyone. The tail lights are connected by a thin LED strip which moves all the way from either tail lamps. Looks are guaranteed and with it extra alertness for the driver behind, as the strip of line is more visible to the eye. The Exhausts come in chrome finished styling which includes a complete lower chrome finish.Trust Audi for Looks and it always amuses.
TECHNOLOGY:
AUDI AI TRAFFIC JAM PILOT
The Audi A8 Traffic jam pilot monitors the surroundings which include the Multi lane highway, upto 37.3mph , guard rails and of course the other vehicles on the road using the Artificial Intelligence(AI) technology. The driver readiness sensor monitors the driver’s alertness and when the traffic clears, the need for driver assistance is a notified in advance.This technology reduces the need for the driver to constantly monitor the car in the long traffic jams.
AUDI AI PARKING PILOT, GARAGE PILOT
Audi’s new parking assistance systems are equipped with 360 DEGREES CAMERAS MOUNTED ON ALL FRONTS, ULTRASONIC SENSORS, LASER SCANNERS , MULTIMEDIA MEDIA INTERFACE, ROOF ANTENNAS, CENTRAL DRIVER ASSISTANCE CONTROLLER to effectively take over the car when parking. The parking can be controlled by the touch of a phone as well. When parking , the sensors scan the area and the car virtually parks itself in the spot.
ROLL REDUCTION
The roll reduction technology comes into play when cornering the road. Each of the tires are adjusted to reduce the leaning of the car and in keeping the car in a uniform state. The shock absorbers move accordingly in all the four tires keeping the stability of the car same at all points.
AUDI A8 MILD HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (MHEV) WITH ACTIVE SUSPENSION
The Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle(MHEV) is equipped with state of the art electronics to direct the energy flow during the drive. When braking, accelerating, engine off, cornering, the MHEV controls the energy flow between the wheel axles which result in better efficiency and lower fuel consumption results. The speed pick up of the A8 from a standstill is also improved as the electronics kick in first before the gas.Audi claims that an extra 2.5 miles per gallon can be achieved using the MHEV.
The MHEV scans the road ahead for any irregularities and actively counteracts the changes thus keeping the ride smooth at all times.
SIDE COLLISION LIFT OFF
This counts as a new feature in the A8. When the electronic sensors sense an impending crash from the side, the respective side is elevated to the opposite side, which makes the car much safer to ride in.
AUDI A8 DYNAMIC ALL WHEEL STEERING
The dynamic all wheel steering is exactly as it sounds. When the steering is turned the wheels, all the four , turn as required to provide an enhanced level of stability.The steering when turned for a full u turn, sends signals to the back wheels to move in a slightly opposite direction which reduces the vehicle turning radius. Optimized steering feedback is given to the driver if there is any irregularity on the road.
AUDI A8 CENTRAL DRIVER ASSISTANCE CONTROLLER(zFAS)
Four high performance processors constitute the Central driver assistance controller or the zFAS system of the Audi A8.From Traffic jam pilot, parking assistance, lane change assist, pre crash, matrix beam, various sensors etc are all a part and parcel of the zFAS. There is also the mid range radar, long range radar, ultrasonic sensors and the laser scanner which assist in the overall movement of the car by prepositioning and activating the various sensors depending on the situation.
